Have been to B2 half a dozen times now and noticed the flood lighting on stage is always static and the projector units always just pointing at back wall. Looks like you could actually make the whole place come alive with whats been installed in there and the atmosphere consequently enhanced. Most recently, the toilet doors have been wedged open allowing harsh white flourescent light to flood front area of stage. I have tried mentioning these very minor irritations but some staff get rather defensive and sniffy. Lighting, especially ambient lighting, really can make a positive difference to a place. Especially when you walk in "cold" at the beginning of the night.

But hey, it's a great place for bands to play. Very well done for providing this facility. You really deserve respect and support!
Cheers

yeah for the size of the stage they sure have packed a hell of a lot of lights in there and it would make gigs look much better if they were all used. good venue tho. the sound is a lil dodgy but i noticed that its getting better. respect on the venue cos its well good.

i think lighting is a good point. it makes the music stand out more sometimes with some cool lights and cool visuals would be even better!

Well done B2 for acting on comments made here! Went along last nite (Tues 26th) and on walking in felt a lot more comfortable in the venue as the ambient lighting was spot on and no wedged doors. Noticed also that Charly was having a bash at doing something with the stage lighting but couldn't do much as she was buzzing back and forth to engineer bands in the main pub too!
Again. well done
Cheers x

Hi dj,

Thanks for acknowledging my attempts (albeit feeble ones) to create a light show in B2!! Im learning, slowly...the lighting desk we have is a bit of a bitch to operate..but thank you for noticing. We do try to act on as many comments as possible, we can't get it right all the time but we try for some of the time. It helps us to get on here and see your comments as it enables us to improve.... That night was a bit of a nightmare, but we made it through, and I am know passing on my extensive (heh heh) lighting knowlege to my other sound guys..

Thanks again...it means a shit load..

Charley and the team x
