Hi Guys,
Thought I would just drop you all a line to clarify a couple of points regarding the B2 venue... I see you are all concerned that the venue is dedicated to unsigned bands only, this is not entirely true - of course we want to promote unsigned bands but my main aim is to promote live bands of all genres and that is the bottom line!!
We welcome all bands whether signed/unsigned/ local/international, we have already had touring bands in from Liverpool, Cambs, Scotland, Ireland and sweden within three weeks of opening as well as some local bands. Our only restriction is NO COVERS. We want original music only in B2, Covers are for the other bar.
As far as booking support without consulting bands, believe me, where It is possible to consult you all i will do my best to do just that, if there is a time when there are problems with gigs or you are unhappy with any support I might have booked you only have to chat to me and I'll get it changed around - I'm quite easy going you know guys, I don't bite (very often...heh heh)
Regarding promoters - everyone seems to be under the impression that I won't hire the venue to promoters... our policy is that we do not hire the venue out, BUT that does not mean that we wont work with promoters. I am happy to allow promoters to put on their own nights, I just don't charge for that, the only thing I ask is that the bands get paid. We are not one of these venues that will charge you guys to step foot on our stage, it's a free stage here.. so if there are any promoters out there who want to use the venue free, please contact us and we'll work it out.
Essentially B2 is a venue for everyone, and we want to make it work, so please if you feel we are going wrong somewhere, give us a shout and we'll try to steer the venue in the right direction.
Any comments really are appreciated,
Cheers for listenin'

Sorry to start off in the negative, but seeing as I almost had my head taken off by a wayward pint glass on Saturday night, maybe a more watchful eye on glass coming into the venue would be a good idea! I'm not having a go and I realise it's not your fault, it was just pretty scary to learn after we came off stage what had actually happened and how close one of us had gotten to being glassed...
Is there anywhere to put aside a bit of space to stash gear too? Otherwise bands will have to leave stuff in their cars (a bit of a theft risk) or stand in the corridor blocking the toilets clutching guitars and drum bits!
Thanks for your comments, I fully agree with you, it was a really shit thing to happen and watching the CCTV footage back, the guy actually got in the back door that was left open when a band was loading out. We now have a watch on that door to make sure the same thing doesnt happen again and believe me it wont. I can only apologise, as I said before if there is anything we can do just ask.
We have a storage space, it just wasn't quite finished, but now is available for use, so you wont have to worry about leaving stuff in cars etc.
Again, we are sorry that your first experience in B2 wasn't a great one, the sad thing is, if it wasn't for that prat you would probably have gone away feeling more positive about the new venue. We hope you will come back for another gig, and hopefully leave with a much better taste in your mouths ...
I came down for the battle of the bands night a week or two back and I thought the place was great. The only thing I'd suggest would be a mirror for the ladies'!!
Well the mighty Arch Stanton played at B2 last night with Spot and we were really surprised at how good this new venue is! Air conditioning!! Deodorant in the toilets!!! Good work Charley and everyone - hopefully soon word will get around and it'll become THE place for original bands to play in Naarwich.
Suggestions?....hmmm....the no smoking rule isn't very rock n roll, but i suppose its something we're all gonna have to get used to soon anyway!!!
When we played there on friday, i was amazed at the place, i had know idea it would look that cool!
Hopefully word will get around soon as we only played to 11 people!
The only thing i might grumble about was that the sound wasn't as defined as it should, but i'm sure thats just me being pedantic!!
yeah i noticed and did many other people that there was a heck of a lot of reverb natural or not it made the sound very muddy and the vocals were very difficult to understand due to this ! other than that it was pretty sweet and ide play it again .
We thought it was ace, a bit cold but fuck me when all the other venues are up shit creak, the B2 is an awesome resource for every original band in Norfolk.
I really hope that word gets round about this place and that it becomes the new place to play. Once the nice shiny floor gets murked out a bit with some heavy moshing action then the B2 will truly be born!
Charley have u asked the EDP or Evening News to run a story on it yet? Need to promote, promote, promote

Whats the deal with putting bands on?
I have several bands wanting to play Norwich, london based & wales based, so what would I have to do to get a bill together? _________________ ShowCAD would complain of the horrors of fletchcadillac?.

Would it be possible to get a drum stool instead of that bar stool thing?
No need for a big fancy drum throne padded with quail feathers, but the last two times we've played there I found it difficult playing lower than I normally would.
Apart from that, it's great! _________________ thankyou and goodnight.
any tips on getting a gig at this fine venue? do you have promoters or book everything yourselves.. were from ipswich and are looking for a couple of norwich gigs soon
wow i get to play B2 twice in one week.....and only 2 days apart !! ...thats so awesome !!! ....can`t wait to see you again charlie it`s been a long time !!!!!!!And just think last time we met i was a terrible guitarist and a reasonable dj ....now i`m a great drummer .....sighhhhh .....how things change ..lol..
