TU-3s aren't better than anything, a tuner is a tuner really. They don't add anything to the signal path, so in theory there's no way should add noise.
The TU-3 is really slow to respond, especially on lower notes. For £14 less you can get a Korg Pitchblack, which you can use as a strobe tuner (which is far more accurate), it's much quicker to respond, and it'll tune from A0 to C8.

I much prefer the korg stuff, also - if you're not setting your intonation (i.e giving it to a tech/luthier) then there really is no need to have a mega accurate tuner to within 1 cent etc, it's only going to make tuning up more finnicky & take longer, which is no use on stage. _________________ http://www.hamptonguitartech.co.uk/
