Im having a problem lol basically, with java script. Its software that i use all the time to play online games with on a website that is trusted by avg so i dont suspect any foolery, but over the last few weeks its started giving me problems.
First off it will work for a few days, then for a few days it wont etc...
Iv gone onto my mums pc and it works fine. So its not the site or the software. Iv ran full computers scans all 3 times this has happned. Iv even uninstalled and reinstalled, iv even hooverd away all the dust inside of my pc as the fan seems to be working extra hard when my java script problems are active. Iv even tryed updated to the latest version of java but my pc keeps tellin me i have the latest version.
Everything eles on my pc is fine though, no other problems what so ever in the slightest nature, apart from trying to accses java to play these online games with. Could a faulty fan or other peace of hardware be getting in the way of this ?
Id appriciate any help as you are talking to a complete idiot =-}
Many thanks. _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!

Java isn't the same as Javascript btw.
Which site is it?
And you may well have a dodgy old install of Java that's messing things up. Look in your Add/Remove programs thingy to see that there aren't any old versions lying around.
Hardware would make no difference - you'd see the effects of an overheating PC whenever you were doing anything heavy if that were the case. If it mysteriously doesn't work for a few days, then does, I'd say it was the site myself, but that's just a guess. Intermittent problems are always hard to solve
ok but like i said the site and software works everytime on my mums pc, the site is www.flyordie.com
I think i may have tryed looking in the add and remove programmes bit, but will have another look. I have noticed one other thing acually, when im havin these problems my temp cookies or what ever they are lol dont work either.
I.E when logging into facebook or any other site i cant just click on the username tab and have my username or email come up underneath like usaull. I have to keep typin it in, but when my pc is "working" again i can just click an then click on my username/email.
Tryed resettin all of my internet options as well, but again. No joy...
Java/javascript... lol total douchebag remember =-p _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!
Hey no i havent, but will definatly give it a go an let you know how i get on =-p _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!
Right, its working again lol but it wasnt because of anything i did using the troubleshooting page as i only looked at it quikly before i went out.
Basicallly, my hard drive fan isnt working as hard now either, its all nice an quiet. Are you sure this isnt a hardware problem ? as the two seem to be linked together everytime i have this problem.
As always, many thanks. _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!
Ok, its not working again lol and my fan is working hader than normal again even after the pc has been turned off for almost 12 hours. Like it has to cool the pc down ? Usaully when things are working from start up it works hard then all settles down once everything has loaded.
But when the problems are active it continues to carry on working harder...
This all goes away when java decides to start working again... the two have to be linked surely ?
iv also tryed all the options on the flyordie website and no joy, as sad as it sounds, this website accounts for like 80 per cent of my home entertainment lol hence why im so keen to get things resolved
If anyone has any more ideas id appriciate it
Regards. _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!
These intermittent faults are tricky. What browser are you using, and did you try a different one...? If you're on Internet Explorer, check out Firefox. (You might need to check you've got the right settings and plugins for it as described on that page.)
Could be worth looking for errors in the Event Viewer...

Fuckin' A. Firefox 3.5 is just one long cluster-fuck of random, intermittent, really fucking annoying errors. My particular fave is the fact I have to reinstall Flash every single time I want to use it.

The fan will spin harder under more load, but that's not unusual. Mine spins harder when I've got Cubase running with all my inserts.
Antivirus foibles perhaps? Maybe upgrade to the latest firefox, make sure you have the latest java plugin, etc _________________
Yea i may aswell give it a try, because firefox didnt work either. Could it be a software conflict ? _________________ The figure stands expressionless, impassive and alone!!!

It could, cause I had bad problems by some how getting bad software, and files slowing everything up, not loading. Plus all the anvirus things you use to stop it all really only jam the speed of the software. As long as you have saved the stuff you want, just install your latest Windows, tell it to delate all files and added software, and I bet it a clear it. The shit thing is your have to reload all your stuff you want back. Plus heres another way to find out, as you reload you may find the software that is the problem.
Good luck. _________________ MUSIC PLUS MEDIA

Yeah remember that you will effectively wipe your hard disk, so will need to backup all your personal data, songs, grumble vids, etc before you reinstall Windows. _________________
