I used to do Motorola 68000 assembly on my old Atari ST as a kid (yeah, I didn't get out much), which I was then exposed to again at uni and therefore had a head-start on everyone else - Yay!

I also spent a summer hand assembling ZX Spectrum code and typing it into a hexidecimal keypad. Got it to control flashing lights, motors, switches, and made a rudimentary lift control algorithm. Badass.

Would love to get back into assembly programming but apps are just far too large and complex to even imagine coding that way anymore. Plus C, and C++ are just as powerful and the core language is portable between processors and operating systems.

I'd stick with C/C++ if I were you!

That would be basic code.

10 print"therclearscreenbutton"
20 POKE53280,0:POKE53281,0
RUN

Its not that simple with assembly.
