OK, so i know the basics. Dont run a 8ohm head into a 4 ohm cab. etc
But basically. I was looking to add some rack units to my current set up [i use hartke 3500 + 4x10trans cab] Nothing fancy, just a good compressor and a rack tuner and hopefully a sans amp. See now I thought, ohms wouldnt matter etc, but then some dick was like "if you do that you'll blow your head."
Was just basically wondering if anyone knew if this was the case?
Also, can anyone reconmend a good value for money compressor. Im gunna be buying it second hand prob. One of my mates said the behringer AutoCom was good, and its had decent reviews on harmony central, im jsut not keen on behringer!

You dont need to worry about impedance, you're going to be running the racks through the front end of the amp.
The behringer compressors are very reliable and pretty good, its also worth checking out the focusrite gear which isnt too badly priced and sounds great.

Aye, the Behringer Autocom I bought off Timmy really cleans up the attack nicely on my clean guitar tone before it goes into Amplitube on my poot. Evens it all out a treat.
Yeah whoever said it will blow your amp is a tosspiece, unless of course you are running the rack gear from the output of your amp with no cab ("behind the amp"). If it's all effects looped, it'll be fine. _________________ Keep up with local events and plug your own gigs!
