My name is dave, i am 22 and played for guitar for ten years. I have just graduated from UEA and was frustrated with the lack of playing I had. Now that I am a Norwich local, would really like to get something started again.
I have gigging experience though that was before Uni so three years ago, I cannot drive but have friends who will help me out and live close to all the practise rooms.
I am into all sorts but would like to play something with a bit of power with some technical ability thrown in. Along the lines of Converge, the cardiacs, pig destroyer, 65 days of static.
Ideally I would like to meet a second guitarist/bassist or drummer to jam some ideas with and then try and look to create a full band. Not bothered agewise as long as people are willing to contribute ideas and have a good time and can play their instrument to a decent standard.
maybe my influences were a bit strange - i am looking to do something a bit noisy but with catchy bits like the bronx etc
would like to find people to share ideas and get something started. I live pretty much central norwich and can do plug. I want to do something which is serious and have no major commitments to stop me from doing it!
Your bunch of influences were great!
If I was looking to start another band with someone, it would probably be someone like you (i.e, someone not just into the usual awfulness that alot of people like and want to sound like when they start bands) _________________ Ndx
like i said in the first post, i just want to meet like minded people and start to get ideas together for a band. I am available in the evenings and weekends to get something started. even taking guitar lessons to keep the ideas fresh!
To be fair though, You are probably a far superior guitar player than I am.
To be fair that is a pretty subjective statement. I have actually just started to have guitar lessons and spent 9 years of my life just spending hours in room trying to learn techniques. I am that cool/lacking a life
