They're shitty myspack quality of course, so if you'd like a high quality CD with spangly artwork (in a PLASTIC SLEEVE, no less) then sling us a PM and I'll post one out to you. _________________
It's a gorgeous studio out near Bury and the guy who owns and runs it is a proper nice guy who really knows his shit. We'll definitely go back there again! Dragline are recording there in June, imagine how fat that one will sound! _________________

my god, that looks the absolute shizznizz. I don't think it would be possible for an english studio to look cooler than that.
what are their prices like if you don't mind me asking? and how long did you guys have in there? we are scouting around for places to record a possible new EP. there's a place in northampton which is pretty decent but this seems way better, if it's in the under £200 a day price range.

It's £250 per day but the great thing is that a 'day' isn't a set time - for example from 10am til 6pm - it's from when you start until when you finish. We were tracking from 10am until 2.30am on the Sunday and it still counted as one day's work!
We went for a weekend and stayed over on the Saturday night (at a cost of £25 per band member per night) which was great. There's two bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and shower, a lounge with pool table and Sky TV and your own kitchen too (we had a roast dinner on the Saturday). Rupert is the guy who runs it and Tom is his second engineer/drum tech. They're both great guys and really know their shit! Plus the dog and the cat are both awesome.
All in all we did 2 days tracking and an extra 1 and a half days mixing. The live room is fantastic and the SSL console is brilliant, they run Pro Tools HD on a super quick G5 and there's a shitload of cool gear to be used including a variety of drum kits (we used a house kit which saved a lot of mic set-up time as Tom was familiar with it already).
As you can see from the photos on the site, it's in a gorgeous house in the country so the location is also top. I suggest giving Rupert an email to book a studio tour - we were there three hours when we had ours and it seemed to be no trouble for him! His email is rupert@monkeypuzzlehouse.com. _________________
Thats sounding really good doods! Strong songs and backed up with that awesomely phat production. Your voice is hugely improved over past Choda recordings too Chim, reminded me a little Perry Farrell on parts of No Gravity, which is a good thing! I like. _________________ Myspace in progress: www.myspace.com/dirtylittlehabitrock

just listened to 'other side' and now listening to 'no gravity' and i really do like them, the sounds is quality (even if myspace is spanking it), really fat but with a nice tone to it too. my only criticism is the mid on the bass in 'other side' is quite strong but that is very much due to personal preference.
overall, it was money well spent as you have got yourself a great sounding ep/single. if you fancy popping a copy into froggles hands for me when end soteria next practice it would be much appreciated.
it has just gone onto your old tracks and it really does show how beefy and clean the new tracks are. _________________ -one person's terrorist is another's freedom fighter-

There was something in the mastering that changed the sound of the bass and the guitars. We're gonna try and get the original unmastered mix and get it mastered properly.

Cheers Chris, I've never had the Perry Farrell comparison before! And thanks for the vocal improvement compliment - I'm still amateur as hell but nice to hear that someone thinks I'm progressing. I had a nice amount of time on the vocals for this one unlike on our previous stuff and actually ended up doing them in the control room for the first time with a handheld Beta 58. I fucking hate going in the booth behind a mega-expensive mic that can pick up my heartbeat and my feet shuffling around, how the hell can you be expected to put any feeling into your takes? Rupert did a phenominal job with producing Jables' backing vocals too and the bastard cut them in about an hour, damn him! In places there are 7 or 8 flying about...
Scotty - I'll zip you a copy as soon as possible via the fr0ggle network, Nick wants one too but I'm having to wait until I can print them at work on the sly as I don't have a printer at home! _________________
