I'm loving a lot of the camera work and although the location is a little cliche, it works well with the song. The only thing I'd say is that the frontman (really sorry I don't know who's who) looks a little cardboard on the close-up face shots. Rock the fuck out buddy!

Other than that - awesome to see a Norwich band with a decent professional video... Very Happy

Cheers,

yea with the budget and the date we could only do it there as it was out side the directors office's, we had to do it during a tour cause it was doe in farnborough and we had a day of so to save us money we were in the area so we had to do it then, we did have a disused tank testing facility planned for it but the MOD was charging like £600 a day to rent it,

and i know what you mean about the cardboardness, nath(singer) was told to stand in front of the camera for a whole take, and i think they used waay to much of that take,

Any more feedback would be awesome!

Thanksx

Very good lads. Very Happy

I thought Nath was going to rescue that poor girl too, but no he just moved her a little and left her in peril. Wink

Seriously though, very good.

Will be a great thing to send to Majors as promo.

Keep going boys, I reckon you'll get signed to one in the not too distant future. Very Happy

I really respect you guys, you take a lot of shit and you don't give a fuck, you just keep going.

Kudos.

Cheers

It ain't my sort of music at all folks but I'm with Nick and do have respect for you guys for two reasons: firstly, you tour your arses off all fucking year so you deserve to get somewhere and secondly, you seem to really want it and aren't afraid to put the hours in. I don't know how you afford it! And forget anyone who slags you off as it's either down to jealousy or boredom, they'll soon change their tune if you get any success.

As for the video, nicely shot and very pro looking, but I agree with fr0ggler on the 'performance' front. A few balsa wood sections for me but the saucy bondage subplot made up for it. As for the location - a bit dull I thought with far too much black going on but I don't know if that was intentional and you did say you were on a time limit. Sorry, videos shot at night on a concrete forecourt don't do much for me!

There you go, half nice and half not so much. But constructive I hope? Good luck all the same.

I think the video looks pretty cool, professionally shot and slick.

The song is horrible though.

cheers for the kind words and criticism we dint really have alot of choice on the location or how it was filmed as it was filmed for the directors portfilio,

and we dont afford to tour that much we are all broke all year round, i cant evan afford strings most of the time, evan at endorsement prices, but were all happy what were doing so its all good,

Keep the comments coming,

thanks

the crane shots are fucking well top

i think the song is pretty good for the thing that you guys do aswel, and the video fits quite well

a bit more action wouldn't have gone a miss but the camera movements make up for it.

good stuff lads

Before I start, I just want to say a couple of things: Firstly, good work on getting a professional video. Secondly, Chimmers is right; you do seem to work pretty damn hard, and I've got a lot of respect for that (especially as my band are lazy fuckers and have only rehearsed 8 times this year). You've been toiling away for years and you've stuck to what you want to do, which is great.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the others about the video.

It looks high quality, but I don't think it's shot very well and the treatment must have taken what, half a minute to think up? Swinging the camera about on a crane reeks of a director trying to show off and it doesn't do anything for the video (just putting the movements in time with the song would have been a huge improvement), and showing a couple of gratuitous shots of a girl tied up and gagged is just pointless. It's the kind of brainless nonsense that gives metal a bad reputation, because it has no artistic merit whatsoever but manages to slip in a helpless blonde and some commercially friendly "kinkiness" for no reason other than ticking boxes. In fairness though, I doubt much of that is down to you - from Perry's previous work (Chicane and Groove Armada? Ugh), I'm guessing he's just trying to pimp himself out to some new genres in a bid to get more work. It's like what someone who doesn't listen to metal thinks a metal video should look like.

Personally, if I was at a label and saw that, I'd toss it in the pile. Not only does it show that you sound identical to a thousand other bands, it also shows you look just like them and steal their video concepts too. Nick's right though; it probably could help you signed - but mainly because you look like a safe bet to shift a few units whilst metalcore is still selling.

One other thing - a few people have mentioned that you do get a lot of shit, and I agree that it is mostly unfair. However, after seeing you at the Waterfront (supporting Send More Paramedics?) I can see why it happens. When the crowd started giving you shit, it didn't look like you were "determined to prove them wrong"; it looked like a bunch of kids throwing hissy fits. Your singer must have spent a quarter of the set whinging about how no one else there could do better and telling people to fuck off. The only way to shut them up is by playing your arses off, not trying to argue with the audience. I doubt anyone left that gig with a good impression of you.

Anyways - the video is good quality, and it's a darn site more than most bands get, so like I said before good work. I know I sound like I'm having a go, but the video stuff isn't really aimed at you and the gig thing is just an observation. If you're happy with it, what does it matter what I think?

Steve

I see where steve was coming from in some places but id like to argue a couple of points he made in his post.

The video wasnt the best video i have seen in a while...but it did the job, and as steve said, it was probably down to the director...however i feel his comments about your music (when you were still going) are unfair.

To say you guys sounded like a thousand other bands is the kind of comment i would see from someone who regards metal as "headache music". I thought you guys had some real character on stage and some real clever hooks and features throughout your songs which helped you sound unique compared to every other metalcore act, and i would come to any show of yours i could (or if that failed put you on a show myself) because i thought you guys were so good.

Also in regards to the gig, the people who gave you shit were the judder fans....and to be honest it was all out of order and they needed to be put in their place....it isnt your fault that they couldnt be arsed to leave earlier for the gig...what do they expect to get from motorway rush-hour traffic? You stuck to your guns about the bill positioning but you were never harsh about them in any way. Why should they have gone above you guys because they were late? If you miss your slot at a gig....tough shit.

Also...if you have been to any of forever fallings gigs at the smaller more intimate venues (B2, QC etc) that nath would regularly banter with the audience and the shit talkers....

You guys were top...and atlas&i are top too. cannot wait to see you guys live! Smile however...next time you shoot a video be in control of the director haha Smile
