Yo. I have an old, crappy Canon S400 bubble jet printer. Last time I tried to use it (about a day or 2 ago), it was working perfectly. Now it just prints blank pages. The cartridges still have ink in them, and I've re-seated them several times.
I've also re-connected the cable in case it was loose.
I've also attempted several of the maintenance options, such as cleaning and deep cleaning. Nozzle check and print head alignment both produced blank pages, and I've tried them several times.
Basically I've tried all of the above in varying orders in case something helped something else, and still all I get is blank pages.
Nothing prints in any colour, so the problem isn't specific to any particular cartridge.
I have a Canon S400 and have the same bloody problem! It will not print black although I have placed 3 brand new black cartridges in (thinking something was wrong with that specific cartridge). Although all of the ink tanks are full, it shows an out of ink message.
You could also try the vodka treatment.

I recently obtained a Canon S200SP from someone off MFC. Color was printing albeit faintly, and B/W not at all. Tried soaking printhead in water, and blowing through small hole in top of cartridge to pressurise, to no avail. I decided to soak head o/n in clear alcohol (best I had was VODKA!!) and retried, after fully refilling cartridge with ink. Hey Presto - working!!

Cheers for that, although I'm not too sure about soaking my print cartridges in vodka.
I've tried using the printer through the parallel port and via USB, in case the port was broken and this didn't fix anything. I've also tried another black cartridge to no avail.
Just now I restored my system to a couple of days ago as I had a fair few WinXP updates yesterday and thought maybe they were conflicting with print drivers. This also did nothing.
So, short of soaking things in vodka, I'm out of ideas.
