Ok so I tracked it down and wow! so far it is awesome.
Very different and nothing obviously different, you hear the lack of compression in places (as they said there would be less of) and it adds a lot of reality to it.
Tis a lot more about meaning from the sound rather than the music, the boys are definatly maturing.

im having such a hard time choosing which album i like the best... so i will just comprimise and say that i love all three individually
the fall of of math was mind blowing when i first got it and was exactly what i wanted to hear at that time, i loved seeing that album played live especially retreat retreat and hole, i really liked the mix of digitised beats and samples
but when one time for all time came out i always felt like i prefered the more post rock feel to it
the destruction of small ideas is less immediate than the previous releases, this is probably due to the lack of compression, but it is so epic after a few listens and i just discover more and more layers the more i listen to it.
65 days of static are wicked, they are touring with youth movies/cats and cats and cats soon so i will have to run along to that. _________________ leave with your enemies
Well I think its fantastic the compressionless idea is amazing and it is far better than TFoM. One time was good but not consistently good TFoM and the new album (The Destruction of Small Ideas) are both consistently good and work as an album, but the new album is far more amazing songs, each song is amazing with a 65 feeling but not too much to sound the same.
The Destruction of Small Ideas has shown a vast improvement on all other work and a matured aproach to music from the boys, bring on the 17th with 65DOS YOUTHMOVIE!!!! and Cats & Cats & Cats. It is gonna be awesome.
Hopefully will be getting in with the YMSS boys as I know the guitarist "Al" a little.
